Contact Paul Rogers, YouthPride's Volunteer Coordinator. Please plan to join us at the next Volunteer Orientation. Our volunteer orientations give you the opportunity to learn more about YouthPride and our volunteer program. There is no cost to attend the orientation. However, should you decide that you want to become a volunteer and help our youth then you will need to submit a volunteer application, along with a $25.00 application fee to cover the cost for a background check.

CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITES @ YOUTHPRIDE:
Center Host/Receptionist: During our "safe zone" hours you will man the reception desk welcoming our youth to the center and checking them in. Other duties include answering phones, light clerical, and supervising the youth in the center. This provides a great one on one opportunity with our youth. It is a every other week commitment with two shifts 1:00pm-5:00pm or 5:00pm-8:00pm Mon, Tue, or Wed. 1:00pm-4:00pm or 4:00pm-6:30pm Thu. or Fri. and one shift on Saturday 1:00-5:00pm.
Forum Facilitator: Our facilitators lead our weekly discussion forums where youth meet and speak their mind on various topics. Facilitators are required to make a nine month commitment and lead each forum on a three week rotation. This position also requires an additional training provided by YP. The current forums that facilitator(s) are needed are: No openings at this time.
Movie Night Hosts: Our movie team hosts "screen with a queen" every Thursday night from 6:00pm-8:00pm. The team works on a three week rotation and is responsible for choosing and promoting the movie on their evening. Hosts are also responsible for locking up the center after the event.
Special Events Team: Our special events team helps the Youth Board throw events, parties, and spread the word about YP. The schedule is very flexible and the events you host are extremely fun!
Wellness Team: The volunteer wellness team helps ensure all of our youth's heath questions are addressed. Interested volunteers should come from a health wellness background (i.e. nursing, HIV tester, health educator, etc.) The wellness team provides HIV testing, "ask us" bulletin board, and bi-monthly health/wellness workshops.
Cyber Center Specialist: The cyber center team keeps the center up to date and running smooth for all our youth to enjoy. They also assist keeping other computers around the center going. They also provide bi-monthly workshops for our youth to learn more about today's technology. The team may be asked to assist keeping the website up to date. Interested parties should have a background in the IT field.
Fundraising Team: Keeping the funding for YP coming in is a big job. Our volunteer fundraising team helps us by hosting fundraising events, soliciting businesses and individuals for donations, and assisting with everyday operations in our development office.
